A Fast Lap with Giancarlo FISICHELLA

The lap at Hockenheim starts on the short finishing straight, which leads into the quickest corner on the circuit. This is approached at just over 300 km/h in 5th and a single gear change down to fourth gear allows the corner to be taken at just over 180 km/h. This corner is important as it leads on to the longest of the many straights at Hockenheim where you are on full throttle for nearly 17 seconds and will reach a speed of nearly 350 km/h before braking extremely hard down to 2nd gear and 115 km/h for the first chicane. A slightly shorter straight, where full throttle is held for just over 13 seconds, results in a speed of about 340 km/h before the second chicane. Again I take this in 2nd gear and it's the slowest of the chicanes at just under 100 km/h. The exit of this chicane leads to the first of the two back straights where I reach a maximum speed of about 340 km/h after around 14 seconds of throttle. Again very hard braking leads to the third chicane, once again taken in 2nd gear at just under 110 km/h. The final straight leads back to the stadium section, I approach this at around 330 km/h and enter it with a medium speed 3rd gear corner taken at around 160 km/h. From here I soon have to brake for the long 2nd gear left-hand corner taken at around 95 km/h which leads almost immediately into the double right-hand corners, both taken in 3rd gear at between 130-140 km/h which lead back on to the start/finish straight.
