1995 |
The Catalunya Montmelo track
was open in 1991. It has 3 different courses: Grand Prix
Circuit which is 4.727 km long, the National Circuit, 3.067
km long and the School Circuit, 1.073 km long. The Circuit
de Catalunya is one of the most modern race courses that
meet the conditions required to host major motor
competitions. From 1991 Catalunya is the track, where
Spanish Grand Prix is taking place. Catalunya is the
traditional place of Formula 1 teams winter testing sessions.
After terrible incendents
in 1994, the Spanish Grand Prix was in emergency of
wreck. Only 9 cars took part in friday qualifying session. After breefing with Max Mosley the retarder has appear
in the end of start-finish straight. Before the 1995 season
the Catalunya track was reconstructed. The most significant
of this changes is dessapearing of th Nissan
chicane. Track length has decrease for 20
meters. |
