Heir to the throne, having risen in two years from being a team
bare ly taken seriously to
Championship contenders in 1993. Winter testing has seen
Benet ton moving closer than ever to Williams and, with Michael Schumacher
heading the line-up, I can see him being tipped by some for the title.
Schumacher has a remarkable talent for someone so young. He is
self-confident with speed and ability to match. Pure magic to watch. We could be
looking at Germany's first post-war world champion.
Michael Schumacher heads the Benetton driver line-up, with many
tipping him for an early season win. He needs to watch over-confidence on the first lap of a race which has been a
problem in the past but is hopefully now behind him. Riccardo Patrese has the dubious pleasure of being his teammate and I am not sure he has the commitment to rise to Schumacher's level. He has enormous GP
mileage and will do a professional job. He coped with Mansell being quicker but he will find it harder with Schumacher. |
